Hawaiian composers have always taken license to write songs about whatever caught their fancy--be it the flashing eyes of a pretty girl,the beauty of certain places, or a litter inter-island ship. Many of my paintings follow that same tradition, having nothing to do with any history by my own. Glimpses of places and people,, some from faraway childhood, moments that express something essential about the Hawaii I've known; these have a way of bothering me until I put them down on canvas.
