A Go enthusiast's best friend, the soft surface always lies flat, nicely holds the stones (goishi) in place, and the non-slip grippy underside of the mousepad keeps the board from sliding around. The coordinates are labeled alphanumerically according to standard Go format so both players see the same coordinates. This is a standard GO board showing 361 points of intersection with 324 squares made by 19 horizontal and 19 vertical lines. There are Star Points shown on certain intersections for the sole purpose of direction. For reasons of perspective, the correct grid setup is in the form of a rectangle instead of a square. The long side stretches between the players, with the short side facing each player. From the player's perspective, the angle will make the grid appear square. . The board arrives folded and may have creases upon arrival. These creases will relax within a few days if left out on a flat surface. May require a heavy book to accelerate the flattening process. Once the creases come out from original manufacturer's packaging, the board will lie flat without creases.
