These plugs fit ford 6.9L diesel engines (indirect injection). If the plugs in your 6.9L have a rounded "bullet" style electrical terminal instead of the wide spade style shown in the pictures, then you have an engine produced during the transition period between the 6.9L and the 7.3L idi. If this is the case, you will need to order the plugs for the 7.3L idi. These updated plugs offer a noticeable improvement in cold weather starting. They get 100 degrees hotter and do it in 20% less time than the oem plugs. These plugs noticeably improve cold weather starting! Check out the test results of the side-by-side comparison pictures. In addition, the seal that holds the combustion chamber pressure back incorporates an internal "o" ring instead of just the clamped metal-to-metal seal as on the oem plug. Special attention has been paid to the plug tips in order to minimize potential swelling that can occur as the plugs age.
