Wood Owl, located in Miki, Japan, has specialized in the production of drill bits for the woodworking industry since 1923. While the factory is highly mechanized, many of the operations are still performed by hand by skilled workers. This is a 1" diameter by 7.5" long Tri-Cut Nail Chipper auger bit. This bit s made from fully induction-hardened high-carbon steel for strength and durability. The patented Tri-Cut design consists of three precision ground cutting edges and three flutes engineered to optimize drilling performance. The unique Tri-Cut head balances the bit as it cuts and minimizes kick-back as nails are reduced to chips. This bit is 25-35% lighter than standard auger bits of similar size reducing fatigue from extended use. The precision cut lead screw will pull the bit straight and true through material without wandering. This bit comes PTFE Teflon ® coated to minimize friction and allow quick and easy cutting and chip ejection in the stickiest of woods. This bit can be used in corded and cordless drills. The bit features a 7/16" quick release hex shank. This bit can be sharpened. Bit comes in a plastic storage tube to protect it when not in use.
