These Wooden Cabbage Tampers measure 24 inches long, by 31/2 inches in diameter. Of course, all measurements are approximate and will vary slightly. The 24 inch length is adequate for you to have good reach in even a large sauerkraut crock. The wide base gives you good surface area for packing after each new layer of cabbage, salt, and spices is added to your crock. Used in circular patterns it releases juices from the cabbage, giving you a good pack, and getting your fermentation off to a good start.
