Similarin construction to G10, Micarta is made of thin layers of linen cloth that aresoaked in phenolic resin, baked and pressed into huge sheets. It has no surfacetexture and is extremely smooth to the touch. Micarta requires hand labor, useof files, rasps, and sandpaper. Once sanded to 600 grit, apply one to two coatsof teak oil per the manufacturer's directions to seal the open fibers. Scalesmeasure 8mm x 1-1/2" x 5". Note: Use of personal protection such asrespirators and safety glasses are recommended while shaping, forming andsanding.
