In 1889, Mr William Edward Wren and Englishman, started his business of making shoe polishes in Northampton, the home to many fine shoe and boot makers, even till today. Wren's would become a brand that was known for its quality and prestige. It won the First Award from the prestigious Leather Trades Exhibition in 1892. Wren soon branched into other shoe polish-related products. At its peak, Wren's Polish & Dubbin was awarded the Royal Warrant by King George VI in 1936 till post WWII period in 1952, signifying the quality and prestige of the brand.
