The Wusthof Bakers knife is very different than other knives. The long blade of the knife can cut through cakes of all sizes. The blade is also curved which facilitates easy cutting by slightly lifting the cake as it cuts to eliminate tearing. A cake knife is micro serrated. A straight blade would ruin tear the cake. This thin knife allows you to cut multiple layers of the cake for filling and frostings.
