Ziyad Brand Premium Grape Syrup or Molasses is a classic sweetener used throughout the Mediterranean and Middle East. In Turkey it is called pekmez and it is thought to be one of the first sweeteners before honey and cane sugar became commonplace.
Pekmez is often swirled with tahini and served on top of toast, imagine it like a more exciting PB&J for your kids, or even the whole family!
Use it as a pre baking glaze for simits, also known as Turkish bagels, or in place of honey or maple syrup in any baked good to add a distinct grape flavor.
