Sony PS3 Slim to
be released in SA
So talented and advanced, Sony’s
Playstation competes with itself, if you ignore the online functionality.
The new 250 GB PS3 Slim relaunches the PS3 with the necessary HD, Blu-ray
quality that we’ve come to expect from Sony. With more functionality
and less price, the new PS3 Slim gets four gold stars.
More compact and quieter than its
predecessor, the Slim is easy to use, while also doubling up as a Blu-ray
DVD player with upscaling compatibility. The Bu-ray doubles up for games
in high definition. The built in Wi-Fi and web browser also makes it
easier to connect to the net and navigate, yet still the online capabilities
are not as strong as the X-Box. Along with the Wi-Fi, the PS3 Slim has
a free online gaming service, making it even less expensive.
There is, however, no support for
PS2 games or infrared remotes, making Bluetooth universal remotes necessary.
