Harrison Ford to appear in Fifth
Indiana film before he gets too old
Harrison Ford plans on appearing
as Indiana Jones for the fifth time in the next installment
which, he told MTV is “Full of Opportunity”. The sixty-seven year
old star wants filming to begin soon, while he’s still convincing
as an action hero.
Promising not to appear in a wheelchair,
Ford says creator George Lucas is working on an idea for the fifth Indy
movie and if it looks fruitful, everyone will be interested in having
their share. Coming up with a story to develop the character more would
make Ford ‘happy as pie’ he told Cinematic.
His last reprisal of the role was
in 2008 in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”
– 19 years after the last film. Each time he takes on the role,
he hopes to add more to the character. In “The Last Crusade” they
introduced Sean Connery as Indy’s father, while “The Kingdom of
the Crystal Skull” saw Shia LaBeouf as his son while also bringing
back Karen Allen to round out the character as more than an adventurer.
Saying that Lucas’ idea of
the next film was outrageous, Ford says he needs Indy 5 to ‘step on
the gas like Short Round in a Shanghai taxi cab’. He would also like
to see the relationship between Indy and his son Mutt be developed a
bit further, but the story still lies in Lucas’ hands, which means
it’s “full of opportunity” finishes Ford.
