The creative team that brought TV
series Ghost in the Shell from manga to the big screen, now take on
Dante’s Inferno. Being released next month on February 2, Dante’s
Inferno goes from the well known, little-read, classic The Divine
Comedy to the big screen in glorious animation.
The classic, considered to be the
centre of Italian literature, is an allegorical vision of the Catholic
afterlife and follows Dante descent with Virgil into the underworld
where they traverse the nine circles of hell: limbo, lust, gluttony,
greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Dante’s journey
is an attempt to save his love Beatrice from the clutches of Lucifer.
The visually striking modern interpretation
of the film sees Electronic Arts and Film Roman collaborate again after
Dead Space: Downfall in 2008. The team of creatives have been involved
in Ghost in the Shell, Hellboy Animated and Iron Man:
Armored Adventures.
The premier will take place in London,
at the Apollo cinema in Piccadilly Circus and couples with the release
of the XBox 360, PS3 and PSP versions of the game which will be available
to demo. Dante’s Inferno games are currently available for pre-order
on WantItAll.
