Highly anticipated sequel by Electronic
Arts, Mass Effect 2 was released this last weekend and does
not disappoint. Hype surrounding the release of the game indicated that
the role-player game (RPG), would see the combat and shooter aspects
of the game more beefed up than the first version, which many worried
would reduce the tactical, quizzical nature that made it so great to
begin with. The game though, balances inquiring conversation and action
well to produce another excellent Mass Effect with great story
line.
The sequel follows on well from the
first game, even allowing you to transpose your character in Mass
Effect 2. The level of your character, cash on hand, raw materials
and settings of the previous game can be carried over, so you don’t
have to start from scratch to build up your avatar.
The AI has improved with the combat
system to make the game more realistic, including damage and downed
enemies. Regeneration health also comes into effect in the second game,
which requires rest over medi-gel to boost your character.
There is also more to explore with
better developed characters, and by this we refer to both graphics and
plot. In the original, uncharted worlds served as a nice distraction.
These worlds are now more developed giving you more to explore. Camera
angles have improved to make this feature quite awesome.
While we won’t reveal any story
line spoilers, be careful when making decisions, as you will be responsible
for Commander Shepard’s life by the end of the game.
