J.D. Robb tops New York Times Bestseller list
One of Norah Roberts many pseudonyms, J.D. Robb managed two weeks on New York Times’ Bestseller list with one of her “In Death” series: “Fantasy in Death”. The hardcover fiction title reached the top of the list on 23 February, testifying to her growing popularity and marketing efforts of her work.
Authoress Roberts has been heavily involved in the marketing of her books, including this, the 30th in the series. Roberts has been featured in two videos by Penguin Publishers promoting the books, which is one of the many attempts of the publisher to sell the books. The company also designed evidence bags to accompany each of the novels – almost, almost as if the novels sell themselves. Other titles in the series include “Divided in Death”, “Naked in Death” and “Ceremony in Death”.
For the bestselling romance novelist though, 30 bestsellers is another day in the life. She was reported as saying that she has no big plans to celebrate the milestone of her 30th story in the series. “Each novel feels like the first one,” says Roberts who is planning to continue the series because the characters and the world they inhabit are still so interesting. The serial writer also writes as Jill March and Sara Hardesty.
