Five signs you’re addicted to your smartphone
Remember the good ol’ days when addictions were limited to cigarettes, narcotics and fast food? Well, we miss those days. According to an article published by the Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing, the latest addiction sweeping the globe is an addiction to one’s smartphone, and you might have the bug.
According to Tech Guide: Digital Living made easy there are 10 tell-tale signs that you’re addicted to your BlackBerry®. We chose our five best, and added one:
5. One phone. One hundred accessories
If you’ve spent more money on accessories than you have on the phone,
you’re addicted. It might have started with a car-charger and headset,
but if you’re sporting the iBreath, the iPhone breathalyzer, then you need
help.
4. You use all your applications
If your phone sports over 20 applications that you’ve downloaded (not
those that came with the phone)… and you use them ALL: you’re sick. We
were all there in the beginning, with the “You mean, it’s a virtual beer
drinking application? I’m freaking out!” But not all of us use the
“100,000 Cocktail Recipes for Tequila” application.
3. You have an alarm for everything on your to do list
If you need alarms to tell you when to do something and your calendar to
tell you what to do, then you’re addicted. Not because you’re
forgetful, but because you’ve taken the time to program your life into
your phone.
2. You’ve lost weight
If you’re saving money on food and rent to pay off your iTunes accounts
or BlackBerry phone bill, then you’re addicted. Eating is still one of
the more important things you can do with your hands.
1. You wear clothes shaped like your phone
When Barb Feldmen announced her BlackBerry® and iPhone® earrings, you couldn’t
sleep until you owned them… which is not half as bad as wearing them;
you’re ill. If you wear phone other than in Swivel Rotating Belt Clip, you are probably beyond
help.
