Ubisoft make up for duffed Splinter Cell: Conviction release

One of Ubisoft’s most awaited games this year, “Splinter Cell: Conviction” Collector’s Edition has seen a drop in price, not just because gamers deserve it, but because it was sent out with many a faulty USB port. The Collector’s Edition is replete with USB port bearing all manners of extra goodies not on the game’s disc such as a making of vid, wallpapers, concept art and more.

The third-party video game publisher said that certain versions of the game shipped with dodgy drives. There is no knowing which ones were sent out with the bad USB drives, which won’t affect gameplay. To make up for what amounts to a mere annoyance, the publisher has made all the accessories and extras available on the official Splinter Cell website. They have also generously dropped the price of the game by $10 (R72 at the time of writing).

Even more generous than this though, each edition of the game comes with an invite to the multiplayer beta of the next in the Tom Clancy franchise: “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” which gives players a chance to experience the game ahead of it’s release online.

Just when you think Ubisoft couldn’t get any more generous, they go a step further allowing kids to take part in the Mature-rated fun without actually being mature. That’s right kids, you get Splinter Cell too. But it’s an activity book. The animated characters have guns though, so still Tom Clancy!

“Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction” is available for purchase on WantItAll.
