Mad Hatter stares down mugger
UK’s The Sun reported that Alice in Wonderland star, Johnny Depp, is a real-life hero, for saving friend and British singer Stephen Jones from a mugger. Last week, Depp, aged 46, and Jones, aged 47, stepped out of a recording studio in Los Angeles, and were met by a mugger wielding a broken glass bottle.
The mugger, who, according to sources, ‘looked off his head’, intended on mugging the singer when Depp stepped in, and in a very daring maneuver, stared him down. A friend of the star said “Johnny looked him straight in the eyes and told him to back off.” After realising that he was attempting to assault Captain Jack Sparrow, the star-struck mugger put down the bottle.
The robber was quoted as saying “I ain’t stealing from Captain Jack,” before dropping his weapon. Afterwards Depp gave the guy a few dollars and told him to straighten up his life. Despite being star struck, the mugger appeared to be dangerous, which made the ordeal an “extremely scary moment.”
Depp, who is a big music buff himself, was helping Jones with a new track for Jones’s band Babybird. The indie band from Britain are perhaps most well-known for their track “You’re Gorgeous”, which reached number 3 in the UK in 1996.
