The
PowerShot D10
The PowerShot
D10 is an excitingly rugged point-and-click camera from Canon, designed to
offer the user all the benefits of a great conventional compact camera,
in a body which can survive demanding conditions- even including the
underwater world. A 12.1 megapixel resolution and 3x optical zoom lens
with a 35mm focal length equivalence of 35- 105mm allow for pictures to
be enlarged up to A3+ poster size. The camera utilises motion and face
detection technologies in order to automatically achieve ideal focus
and exposure in a hurry, along with features such as red-eye reduction
to further enhance picture quality- all of which can be enjoyed on a
super-bright 2.5” LCD screen. At 48.8mm thick the camera fits easily
into a pocket when saving space is of the essence outdoors.
D10 is great for those with a great taste for adventure, there's a
camera as bold as the active life you lead. It's the Canon PowerShot
D10. Waterproof, freezeproof and shockproof; it's tough enough to take
what you dish out. Plus it's got all the high performance features you
expect from a Canon digital camera. You've got 12.1 megapixels of
resolution plus all of Canon's powerful, state-of-the-art imaging
technologies so you can capture your epic experiences in breathtaking
color and awesome detail.
The D10 has two movie settings, 640x480 (VGA) pixels and 320x240 pixels, both at 30 frames per second. With the trend for compacts to include an HD video option, this might be a deal-breaker if you plan to do a lot of video recording. You can shoot continuously in VGA resolution until the 4GB limit, which takes around an hour. Movies are encoded using the H.264 variant of the MPEG-4 codec and saved to the SD card as .mov QuickTime files.
