Bleach
The first game to be released from the
Bleach series was
Bleach: Heat the Soul, which debuted on March 24,
2005, and the latest release being Bleach: Soul Carnival 2,
which was released on December 10, 2009. There are 19 games holding the
"Bleach" name, not including the two crossover games, Jump
Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars, which feature
characters from numerous Weekly Shonen Jump anime and manga
series. Most of the games have been released only in Japan, though Sega
has localized the first Wii game, and the first three Nintendo DS
games for North America, Australia and Europe. Reception toward the
games has been mixed, ranging from "the best fighter", for
Bleach: The Blade of Fate, to "(not) a bad first effort,
but the competition is leaving this one in the dust", for Bleach:
Shattered Blade.
The game’s theme is the original Storyline Developed for the Nintendo DS.
Two playable lead characters deliver two unique storylines, with over
30 hours of game play in Story mode alone, there is Team-based Game play
where players select their teams from a cast of over 50 BLEACH
characters and command them in battle. Extensive game play modes after
completing Story mode, there are 30 levels in BLEACH Tower mode to
explore and a wireless multiplayer battle mode for two players.
Unlockable Content Players will unlock rare BLEACH items including
Health Boosts, Spiritual Pressure enhancements, weapon items and
hard-to-find BLEACH characters.
Three games were released, one for the GameCube and two for the Wii. A
new character has been designed specifically for this game, an arrancar
named Arturo Plateado This character's appearance is similar to that of
Grimmjow Jeagerjaques', though Arturo's hair and hollow remains, which
also take the form of half a jaw bone like Grimmjow's, are fairly
longer. Unlike most other arrancar, Arturo was self-made. Arturo can
also disguise himself as anything from Gotei 13 captains to zanpakuto
spirits. He once raided the Soul Society, but was sealed beneath
Sokyoku Hill by the Soul Reapers 2000 years prior to the start
of Bleach. When the Sokyoku was destroyed during Ichigo
Kurosaki's rescue of Rukia Kuchiki, the seal placed on Arturo was
broken and he was freed. The game has so far received mediocre reviews.
GameSpot gave it a 3.5 score. IGN gave the game 6.3 out of 10.
