Polaroid is back! When Polaroid announced that production of the infamous Polaroid instant film will be discontinued, fans around the globe got hot under the colour, even starting a worldwide “Save Polaroid” site. The almost instant printing of photos was overrun by digital camera sales and even more instant gratification leading to a drop in sales for the 80-year-old company. Fans will be pleased to know that Polaroid have released the Polaroid Two – still not instant but quite quick printing of photos from the 35mm-thick camera, looks set to replace the old Polaroid without destroying die-hard fans. What’s more, the new Two comes with some modern amenities like memory, digital adjustments and 4x zoom. Chunky for a digital camera, the Polaroid Two comes with a built-in printer that prints your pics in a mere 40 seconds. The camera also allows you to save up to 5 images before printing, while a memory card slot makes this more. Limited editing is also available such as crop, red-eye and printout border; which fans will no doubt not appreciate as Polaroid is renowned for its natural, albeit off-colour, beauty. The camera also makes use of a 3-inch LCD screen instead of the traditional viewfinder, which is no bad thing for digital camera enthusiasts. The 2-inch by 3-inch photo paper is loaded into the camera, but you wouldn’t want to squander it at R236 for 30 sheets of Polaroid PoGo. The Polaroid Two shouldn’t disappoint fans, though, because of its stocky resemblance of its predecessor. The Polaroid CZA-05300B PoGo Instant Digital Camera is available from WantItAll for the Best Price of R3,344.
