HTC Desire gets Android 2.2 to compete with iPhone 4

One of the key competitors of Apple’s iPhone, the HTC Desire will be receiving an upgrade to Android 2.2 in the third quarter of this year. Along with the HTC Desire, the HTC Wildfire and HTC Legend will also receive an update.

The upgrade comes after Apple dropped the iPhone 4 with its upgraded iOS4 and it’s improved functionality. According to HTC, the Android 2.2 is necessary. The Android 2.2 has great new features including Adobe Flash built into the browser (which Steve Jobs has made sure stays clear of the iPhone). The Handset for Desire is also a portable hotspot thanks to Android.

According to Press Submission, the HTC Desire is one of the best Android mobile phones with its great social networking functions. The Individual Sense interface automatically pulls messages from Facebook and Twitter, including updating your friends’ statuses in the contact list, and also makes it possible to upload photos direct to Flickr. The device also comes with 7 customisable home screens with live web feeds.

The 1ghz processing chip makes switching between screens as running the device incomparably smooth. The touch screen also allows for multi-touch. The 5MP camera, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity with 32GB of memory make the Desire quite a competitive device for other smartphones.

The HTCDesire is available on WantItAll for the Best Price for R6,557.
