Justice League available in an App Store near you

One of the prominent figures of the American Justice League, Superman is to make an appearance on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices. DC Comics, creators of the Justice League, announced that they’re teaming up with comiXology to produce a DC Comics App and store for the devices. These digital comics will also be available on the SonyPlaystation Network and the Comics by comiXology app and website.

The PlayStation platform already bears over 80 comics and will see an additional 50 added every month, while some of the other platforms already have over 100 titles uploaded. Publishers are concerned though that the online releases will diminish sales, so DC have come up with all new issues of the Justice League: Generation Lost to be released bi-weekly in stores.

The releases will be the same as the online versions of the Justice League and sees DC’s first move into the digital publishing sector. Creators hope that the new platforms will create more hype for the series and see new fans following the story. Currently there are 5 editions of the Justice League available for purchase through iTunes and the App Store.

The Justice League first appeared in 1960 in The Brave and the Bold with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter. For Justice League merchandise visit WantItAll.
