Greta Garbo's savings account bank passbook! Her passbook, kept for an account she maintained in trust for her brother Sven Gustaffson at The Bank for Savings in the City of New York ,Fourth Ave. andamp; 22nd St.,, five leaves + covers, 3.5" x 5", kept between January 22, 1944 and April 11, 1960. Offered together with a 8.5" x 3.5" receipt noting the deposit of the same funds ,$10,099.53, into her account with The Chase Manhattan Bank on April 12, 1960. Light marginal wear, cancellation punches, else very fine condition overall. According to her grand-niece, Garbo, who had experienced the bank failures of the Great Depression, kept her funds in a wide variety of bank accounts. From the estate of Greta Garbo.
