Description
During the Ancient Egyptian embalming process the internal organs were removed and treated separately, placed in stone or clay canopic jars with stopper lids. Each jar was dedicated to a specific deity representing the four protective spirits called the Four Sons of Horus. Human - Imsety jar contained the liver Baboon - Hapi jar contained the lungs Jackal - Duamutef jar contained the stomach Falcon - Qebehsenuf jar contained the intestines Handpainted cold cast resin. 3 3/4" high
