Simply Stem is a company dedicated to helping our customers find their passions and get better
at doing them. Typing is a key, and critical, skill that many of our youth today lack proficiency in.
However, many of the typing programs available are somewhat boring, which kids tend to lose
interest in very quickly. So... we made learning to type a video game! It's time to Save Alpha Prime!
Here are some key game components:
- The game is set in stages comprising of various keys on the keyboard (home keys, etc..)
- The student must master the current level (focus keys) and previous keys to advance
- The Letters fall from the top of the screen and must be typed prior to exploding at the bottom
- Speeds are variable and can be adjusted based on skill level
- Words-per-minute and accuracy calculations are shown at the end of each mission
- A fun storyline, with character, walks them from one mission to the next as they conquer the keyboard!!
