Domesday 1066 "The Norman Conquest and Destruction of Anglo-Saxon England"

On the 28th of September 1066 the Normans began the conquest of the island of Britannia. Duke Williams’s victory at the Battle of Hastings brought about the downfall of Anglo-Saxon England. William the Conqueror brutally crushed all resistance against him and laid the foundations of the Norman state of England. The Normans transformed a nation, its Language, culture, people and paved the way for the Norman Conquest’s of the Celtic Kingdoms of the British Isles.
