This is a 1/48 Scale Hawker Typhoon Plastic Model Kit from Hasegawa. Conceived as a fighter interceptor to supersede the Hurricane and Spitfire, the Typhoon became famous as a low level ground attack aircraft. This was thanks to it's heavy cannon armament and ability to carry up to 2000lbs of bombs or 8 rocket projectiles. The Typhoon was powered by a unique H-configured 24 cylinder Napier-Sabre engine rated at over 2,000 horsepower. The version in this kit is the late Mk.Ib with the teardrop canopy.
