New Piano Music For The Dedicated Dancer is a collaboration between longtime dance accompanist Patience Clements and world-renowned ballerina Susan Jaffe.
To create this CD, Ms. Clements accompanied Ms. Jaffe, creating pieces tailor-made for the ballet student. With Six Tendus and Degages to choose from, a gentle Adagio and Rond de Jambe to warm-up with, and a Polonaise for Grand Battement, the music presents a challenging barre.
For the center class, the second Tendu , the Adagio and Grand Allegro II are featured twice, the second time with additional instrumentation. There are two jumping combinations, and long bands for Petit Allegro and Grand Allegro. The CD finishes with two tracks for fouettes, to satisfy all your turners tempos.
