Pitsco Straw Rocket Class Pack (For 30 Students)
Product Description
Pitsco Straw Rocket Class Pack (For 30 Students)
- Straw rocket kit provides students in grades K-12 a hands-on activity to design and build a model straw rocket that demonstrates the scientific concepts of aerodynamics, force, projectile motion, center of gravity, and initial velocity
- Class pack contains enough straws, clay, and cardstock for 30 students to design and build four straw rockets each
- Activity provides an introduction to the principles of rocketry using a pneumatic launcher before investigating engine- or hydrogen-powered rockets
- Reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts as students design and build model straw rockets, experimenting with different lengths, weights, and fin designs
- Designed to be launched indoors, rockets are assembled using scissors, ruler, and transparent tape for use in a variety of educational settings
The Pitsco 35784 Straw Rocket Class Pack contains straws, modeling clay, and cardstock for a hands-on activity for 30 students in grades K-12 to design and build four model straw rockets each that demonstrate the scientific concepts of aerodynamics, force, projectile motion, center of gravity, and initial velocity. Each class pack contains precision straws for the rocket body, modeling clay in a variety of colors for the rocket nose, and cardstock for the rocket fins. Students design, build, and modify model straw rockets, experimenting with different rocket lengths, nose weights, and fin designs. Assembled with scissors, ruler, and transparent tape, the straw rocket activity introduces students to the principles of rocketry and reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts. Designed to be launched indoors, straw rockets are a year-round, all-weather activity. A straw rocket kit is typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate rocketry, physics, and aerodynamics.
Construction requires scissors, ruler, and transparent tape (all sold separately). Launching straw rockets requires the Pitsco 20426 Straw Rocket Launcher (sold separately).
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
