Doctor 3 Who: Series Six, Part 1
The way you used to watch this
series from the humble beginning in a consecutive manner is just the way
you would need to know it as it shows how interesting and the amusing
effect it has on you. And that television series that I have here with
me is the one called Doctor 3 Who: Series Six, Part 1 which is a
British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC. The
programme depicts the adventures of a time-travelling humanoid alien
known as the Doctor who explores the universe in a sentient time machine called the TARDIS that flies through time and space, who’s
exterior appears as a blue police box. And to show how popular and
influential this show is, the series has been inducted in the Guinness
Book of Records as the longest-running science fiction television show
in the world, and as the "most successful" science fiction series of all
time, in terms of its overall broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales,
iTunes traffic, and "illegal downloads". It has been recognized for its
imaginative stories, creative low-budget special effects during its
original run, and pioneering use of electronic music (originally
produced by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop). With the one that I have here
with me which is the series six of it and what is does here is to
continue where it left from its previous accounts of Part 1, the
Doctor, Amy and Rory find themselves in Sixties America, battling the
invasion the world forgot, then journey on the high seas of 1696 aboard a
pirate ship, to solve the mystery of the Siren. In a bubble universe at
the very edge of reality, the Doctor meets an old friend with a new
face, and in a monastery on a remote island in the near future, an
industrial accident takes on a terrible human shape. And waiting for
them, at the end of all this, is the battle of Demon's Run, and the
Doctor's darkest hour. Can even the truth about River Song save the Time
Lord's soul? The way it goes, the two-disc set contains the first seven
episodes of the sixth series of revamped Doctor Adventures.
It kicks off with an extraordinary two-part story ("The Impossible
Astronaut" and "Day of the Moon") that reunites the Doctor with
companions Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) to
defeat a race of aliens called the Silence (the subject of the "Silence
will fall" references throughout series five), which have influenced the
course of human history through post-hypnotic suggestion. The
two-parter also sets in motion an overall story arc that runs through
the subsequent five episodes and reveals some stunning surprises, most
notably in regard to Amy and the true identity of River Song (Alex
Kingston). Credits needs to be given to Steven Moffat as head writer and
executive producer, as well as a tantalizing direction for the program
in the episodes to come and the DVD bundle that it including the Blu-ray
are the must have more especially at this time of the year since it is a
season for amusement.
