Saved by the Fossil
Nueces County’s Deputy Sherriff
of the Gulf of Mexico was saved by the Fossil in a shoot-out at the American Bank Center
that took place in the parking garage on December 17. A bullet intended
for Roland Saenz lodged itself in the deupty’s 8-year-old Fossil watch,
which didn’t survive. The timepiece was taken in as evidence.
As a reward and recognition for his
bravery, New York City-based Fossil company gave Saenz and his girlfriend,
Joyce Pereze, two matching watches, to replace the matching set they
had previously as well as a messenger bag for Saenz and a leather purse
for Perez.
The gift by Fossil was complemented
by Rolex’s appreciation for the deupty’s work which
saw them give Saenz a $5 000 wristwatch with an 18-karat, white gold
outer ring around its face.
Fossil’s new Stella range sees
clear crystals accent the ring surrounding the watch face with§
three mother-of-pearl subdials. The white resin bracelet, also in white
leather strap, is stylish and clean and available from WantItAll for
less than the price of taking a bullet.
