Game Change: cold hard

magazine authors John Heilemann and Mark Halperin have trumped up some
scrutiny over their latest co-authored novel Game Change: Obama and
the Clintons, McCain and Palin and the Race of a Lifetime (). Stephen Colbert, infamous American political
satirist, opened his show The Colbert Report
on 13 January by attacking the authors saying that “what really makes
Game Change a page-turner is [that] the authors don't bog it down
with dead weight like sources or attribution.”
The book attempts to take readers
behind the scenes of the latest US elections to provide some answers
to some unresolved questions:
Claims that the book’s cold hard
facts or no more than conspiracy theories abound, with Colbert claiming
that the two were merely making stuff up. The authors however, told
National Public Radio (NPR) that they are confident that they were right
on the money. Heilemann tells NPR, “We went to people after the fight
was over at a time when they were willing to talk about what happened.”
