It’s all very simple a computer software or just software is the pillar of your computer meaning it tells the computer what to do and if the instructor support system is not available, in simple term your computer will not function properly. Software is also sometimes used in a more narrow sense, meaning application software only.

Application software includes end-user applications of computers such as word processors or Video games, and ERP software for groups of users.
There is a software for almost everything and anything; Entertainment software - In a broader sense, the term edutainment describes an intentional merger of computer games and educational software into a single product (and could therefore also comprise more serious titles described above under children’s learning software). Reference software- Many publishers of print dictionaries and encyclopedias have been involved in the production of educational reference software since the mid-1990s.

They were joined in the reference software market by both startup companies and established software publishers, most notably Microsoft.
