The day music could be carried around (Tape, CD, Mp3 players) the world rejoiced and sang along the song innovation but Apple took that concept to next level where we find it hard to believe that there will ever be a next step from where mp3 technology is at the moment.  When the world was not looking the Apple introduced iPod digital music player, On October 23, 2001. It has evolved to include various models targeting the wants of different users.

The iPod is the market leader in portable music players by a significant margin, with more than 220 million units shipped as of September 9, 2009. Apple has partnered with Nike to offer the Nike+iPod Sports Kit enabling runners to synchronize and monitor their runs with iTunes and the Nike+ website. Apple currently sells four variants of the iPod: Classic-160GB, Nano-8 and 16GB Shuffle-2 and 4GB and Touch- 8, 32 and 64GB.  

At Apple's September 9, 2009 event, a fifth generation iPod Nano was unveiled with reduced prices on the larger model, both came with new features - integrated video camera with special effects, microphone, FM Radio with iTunes tagging (via RDS) multiple radio regions including Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Japan.  The fifth generation iPod Nano has nine finishes: Silver, Black, Purple, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Product Red, Green and Pink. All have a glossier finish than the fourth generation. Just like the 4G iPod Nano, Product Red and the yellow Nano are only available on the Apple Online Store and Apple Retail Store.
