Dustin Kensrue’s band Thrice nominated for an OC Music Award

Thrice, the three-piece American rock group from Irvine, California with Dustin Kensrue as frontman, have received an Orange Country Music Award nomination along with Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, The Steelwells and electro group Blok. Thrice album Beggars is up for best album along with Dusty Rhodes’ Palace and Stage. The band was also nominated in the categories of best rock and best alternative.

The little suburb or LA, Orange County, exploded onto the map a few years ago with the American surf, skate and snowboard youth culture and now offers some of the best in US music. The OC Music Awards not only pay tribute to their best performers, but also bring the vibrant music scene to the attention of the country. This years awards show will be held on March 6, before Thrice depart on their three week tour with Manchester Orchestra.

Their US spring tour begins April 14 in Manchester Orchestra’s hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Dustin Kensrue told AntiMusic.com that the tour will be a first for them: “We've only gotten to hang out [with Manchester Orchestra] in passing, so we're excited to get out on the road with them. They're a great band and one of the few out there that I feel an affinity with in more ways than one.”

Kensrue’s solo album Please Come Home and Thrice’s latest release Beggars are available on WantItAll.
