Gossip Girl star Blake
Lively on the shortlist to play Ryan Reynold’s love interest in
Green Lantern
Rumours have it that DC Comics long
awaited superhero film, Green Lantern, may star Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively. The story of the
superheroes who possess power rings that grant their possessor the ability
to use greater control over the physical world is set for release in
2011 with Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan (Green Lantern).
Twenty-two year-old Lively, who plays
Sereena van der Woodsen in the hit TV series Gossip Girl, was
rumoured to be one of five possibles to play the main love interest
in the film. Among the stars on the short list are Keri Russell of
Bedtime Stories fame, Inglourious Basterds’ Diane Kruger,
Elektra and Alias actress Jennifer Garner and Eva Green –
former Bond girl.
Lively debuted her talents in
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, released in 2005 where she
starred opposite America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel. She will appear
in Ben Afflek’s The Town and The Private Lives of Pippa
Lee.
