The latest in a typical line of ultra-violent films, Inglourious Basterds has been nominated for four Oscars: Best Film (drama), Best Supporting Actor for Australian-born Christopher Waltz, Best Director and Best Screenplay.  

The film, much like Tarantino’s others, is full to the brim of inside jokes and intertextual referencing to other influences which can only fully be appreciated upon the 20th viewing of the DVD. Extras on the double-disc edition include extended scenes which include Tarantino in action, comedy camera angle featurette and an uncut version of Nation’s Pride – the six minute film within the film shot in black and white as Nazi propaganda by Eli Roth.
