Fashion turns its attention to 2010 World Cup

International fashion labels Ralph Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Umbro, Puma and Adidas (among others), are getting inspired by the 2010 World Cup and have subsequently each brought out a line of fashionable collections for men. Ralph Lauren’s collection is entitled Modern Fields and features a “Create Your Own” option on the label’s website where customers get to customise their gear with their own name. The Modern Fields collection features gear representing the power-house nations including South Africa.

Armani too has a range of 2010 trainers, belts, bags and T-shirts, but the real gem are the white boxer briefs with detachable flags, purchasable at Armani.

The Umbro World Champions Collection saw Nike team up with personalities from seven countries around the world to produce the limited-edition collection featuring T-shirts for fans of: Brazil, England, France, Italy, Uruguay, Germany and Argentina. Each T-shirt features a design by a well-known artist of that country, making the collection quite collectible.

While other labels have turned their attention to clothing, ToyWatch and Puma give their attention to 2010 accessories, namely watches. The Puma World Cup watch is available, not in three colours, but in three flag options.

Sneaker company, Converse, too are getting the football fever by brining out a World Star Collection. Sneakers featuring eight different countries, themes, and emblems will be available from the shoe company.
