Twilight capitalising on New Moon?  

According to the LA Times, Summit Entertainment, production house responsible for converting Twilight into film, are planning on re-releasing the original Twilight movie.  

In the hopes to generate more interest in the New Moon film release, the movie will be aired in some theatres around the US at a reduced price. The original airing of the film last year generated a ridiculous $383.5 million worldwide and is currently 2009’s bestselling DVD with 8 million sold in the US and Canada alone.  

Fans, it appears, are breathless to see Kirst and Rob on the big screen again before going to New Moon’s airing, which sees Summit and participating theatres get set to offer double tickets.  

The re-release on the back of New Moon’s film debut hopes to bump DVD sales to get it back into the current bestselling position. During comic-con in San Diego earlier this year, Summit re-released the first film for one night only, resulting in more DVD sales.  

The third instalment Eclipse is set for release in June 2010.
