iDo: Another first by Apple
Apple-obsessed couple Josh and Ting Li are the world’s first couple to get married in an Apple Store. On Valentine’s Day this year in none other than the Big Apple, the couple exchanged iDo’s, not only as a tribute to their favourite gadget manufacturer but also to commemorate their meeting.
“We got to know each other because Ting was looking to buy an iPod… and I managed to strike up a conversation that way,” said the blushing groom to Entertainment Weekly. “I used to joke that the Apple Store is my church because I’m not religious, and I loved everything apple.”
The irreligious couple had their priest dress up as Apple CEO Steve Jobs, by making him wear a cheap, black polo-neck, while he piously declared “You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down."
The wedding rings were bound by a piece of ribbon wrapped around a first generation iPod. The couple even read their vows off of their iPhones. The couple’s wedding marks the first unauthorised wedding in an Apple Store and can be viewed on YouTube courtesy of many a shocked Apple employee.
