Onyko brings the Internet to home theatres
Audio-visual technology company, Onkyo, have teamed up with Mediafly to bring the internet to home-theatres. Millions of episodes of Podcasts can be accessed and viewed via the teams new home entertainment system–sans computer.
Internet content is made available, on almost any topic, on traditional media with their innovative mid- and upper-mid range network A/V receivers. Content from NBC, CNN, Comedy Central, NPR, ESPN, BBC, and others along with high-quality independent shows are available. What’s more, the content doesn’t require cable or satellite, which is why it’s being offered free from podcasts and Mediafly’s media partners.
According to sources for the companies, the new receivers will evolve the audio-visual industry to provide on-demand content. Mediafly, the leading content platform, makes available a huge range of content from news, sports, business, celebrity gossip and comedy (among others) on demand. This means that consumers get to choose what they watch and when they watch it, instead of the TV-guide determining their viewing schedule.
Although the new A/V receivers are not currently available in SA, their development is a huge leap forward in home entertainment. For high-quality Onkyo HDMI A/V home theatre receivers, with 3D support, visit WantItAll.
